May 11, 2007. #1. On the photo pages I posted a few pictures of a 75' Ash that I had cut down last year with a little Echo chainsaw. This saw was new when I first used it on this tree and in my humble opinion the Echo was worth it's weight in gold. Some specs of interest. The model # is CS-440 it has a 45 cc motor and an 18" bar.. Cutting speed is good. With a Carlton semi chisel chain it cut the small stuff like a laser. I made a couple cuts through 14" fir and it pulled through it fine. I had bought a husky 435 last year for this type of work and the 3500 cuts fast. The Makita EA3500 runs like you would expect a ms261 or 550xp smooth and fast but not the same power lol ...They take the same .325 bar as a 50ish cc husky. I prefer a 3/8 lp set up on them, it's quite a bit faster at that power level. That's how the chinese 45's came years ago. The 58's are fine with .325. 3/8 rim sprockets and clutches are dirt cheap for those saws and the same 3/8lp bar for the 25cc joncutters or a small husky like a 240 fit right ...May 11, 2012 · Jul 26, 2023. #8. The MS 361 was discontinued and made MS 362 because of increasingly stringent EPA regulations. The 361 was a conventional two stroke motor whereas the MS 362 is a "strato" saw (like the 441) which has significantly better emissions.Jun 10, 2021. #20. The bow bar was used extensively by the US Forest Service Hotshot fire fighting had crews in the south west in the '80s because it was very effective for cutting scrub, chaparral and other large brush to clear fire line. I have a Poulan 3400 I bought new in 1980. I certainly don't use it everyday. I think a working 3400 is worth $40. Lots of parts are easy to come by, but if you broke any of the body part, what's painted green I think you'd have a hard time finding that.
